Our story
Coopers Couriers is a family-run, DEFRA-licensed bird and animal courier based in Groby, Leicestershire — just five minutes from Louella Pigeon World. We were built on a simple belief: that racing pigeons and precious animals deserve to travel with someone who genuinely understands them.
We're not a faceless logistics firm. When you book with Coopers, you're handing your birds to fellow fanciers who know exactly what they mean to you — and treat every one of them like our own.
Meet Gavin
Coopers Couriers is run by Gavin Cooper, a pigeon fancier with over 25 years' experience in the sport. Gavin knows first-hand what it feels like to hand your birds to a courier and hope they're in good hands — which is exactly why he built a service he'd trust with his own.
That experience shows in everything we do: careful handling, calm birds, and the kind of personal, affordable service you only get from people who live and breathe this sport.
Where your birds stay — our holding facility
Every bird that passes through Coopers is looked after in our dedicated holding facility: purpose-built compartments, proper ventilation, fresh food and water, and kept spotlessly clean. Birds rest calm and comfortable between legs of their journey — never crammed, never forgotten.
Welfare comes first, every single time. It's not a slogan — it's the reason people trust us with birds they've spent years breeding and racing.
Covering the UK and Europe
From a single pigeon to a full transporter, we cover the whole of the UK and run regular routes into Europe — Ireland, Belgium, Holland and Germany — moving birds for breeders, racers and fanciers across the continent.
